Just Pace for iPhone and Apple Watch

Run the time you planned.

Just Pace is an iPhone and Apple Watch app for running a set distance in a set time. Pick a distance and a finish time, then let your Watch or your iPhone tell you whether you are ahead or behind, every step of the way.

How it works

  1. Create a Target Run on iPhone. Choose a distance, a target finish time, and whether the run is indoors or outdoors. Just Pace shows the planned split for each kilometre or mile before you save.
  2. It syncs to your Apple Watch. Every Target Run you create becomes a preset on your Watch automatically. No naming, no extra setup.
  3. Start the run from your wrist, or from the phone. Once presets have synced, the Watch runs the whole thing on its own and your iPhone can stay at home. No Watch? Start the same run on your iPhone instead.

What Just Pace does

Target Runs

A Target Run is a distance, a target finish time, and an indoor or outdoor setting. The first release paces every run evenly across the whole distance. Distances are shown in kilometres or miles, whichever you prefer.

Live ahead or behind feedback

During a run the Watch, or the iPhone, shows elapsed time, your current pace, and how many seconds you are ahead of or behind the plan. The whole screen changes colour with your pace state, so a glance is enough.

Pace and split haptics

A gentle buzz marks each completed kilometre or mile and tells you whether that split was ahead or behind. Another tap lets you know when your pace state settles into something new, and a success buzz marks reaching your target. Each kind of haptic has its own switch in Settings on iPhone.

Apple Health workout recording

With your permission, each completed run is saved to Apple Health as a running workout with the same data the Workout app records: distance, heart rate, energy and running metrics. Outdoor runs also save a GPS route and elevation gain, so they appear on a map in the Fitness app alongside everything else you do.

Runs from the Watch or the iPhone

After your presets have synced, a Target Run starts and finishes entirely on Apple Watch. You can pause, resume, and end the run from the Watch without your iPhone nearby. Without a Watch, start the run on your iPhone: it shows the same feedback, plays the same haptics while Just Pace is on screen, and keeps tracking with the phone locked in your pocket.

Private by design

There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and no servers. Your presets live on your devices, and your Health data is processed on your devices. Read the Just Pace privacy policy.
