Just Pace for iPhone and Apple Watch
Just Pace terms and conditions
These terms cover your use of the Just Pace app for iPhone and Apple Watch. Please read them, especially the parts about running safely and the accuracy of pacing information.
Effective date: . Last updated: .
The agreement
Just Pace is made by Yay! Project, a collection of tools and projects by Adrian Lansdown ("we" or "us"). By installing or using Just Pace you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Just Pace is distributed through Apple's App Store and is licensed to you, not sold. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies to your use of the app. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or for support.
Permitted use
You may use Just Pace for your own personal, non-commercial running on Apple devices you own or control, in line with Apple's App Store terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the app, remove any notices from it, or use it in any way that is unlawful or that interferes with other people's use of it.
Not medical advice, and running safely
Just Pace is a pacing aid. It is not a medical device, it does not provide medical, health, or fitness advice, and it does not diagnose, treat, or monitor any condition. Heart rate and energy figures are shown for information only.
You are responsible for your own safety while running. Judge for yourself whether a target is sensible for you, warm up, stay aware of traffic and your surroundings, and stop if you feel unwell. Talk to a medical professional before starting or changing an exercise programme if you have any concerns about your health. Do not rely on Just Pace in situations where an error could put you or others at risk.
Accuracy of pacing information
Distance, pace, split, heart rate, and ahead-or-behind readings come from your Apple Watch and iPhone through Apple Health. They can be wrong or delayed. Common reasons include GPS signal quality, tall buildings, trees, tunnels, indoor use, sensor fit and skin contact, how your Watch is calibrated, HealthKit behaviour, weather, and the limits of the devices themselves. Current pace is smoothed over a short window, so it lags real changes in speed. Haptic alerts are best-effort and may be missed or delayed.
We do not guarantee that any reading, split, workout, or alert is accurate, complete, or timely, and you should not treat pacing information as a precise measurement.
Apple Health
Just Pace reads and writes Apple Health data only with your permission, as described in the Just Pace privacy policy. Once a workout is saved to Apple Health it is managed by Apple's Health app and your Apple device settings, not by us. We are not responsible for how Apple or other apps use data you have allowed them to access.
Ownership
Just Pace, including its design, code, name, and content, belongs to us and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. These terms give you a licence to use the app, not ownership of it. Apple, Apple Watch, iPhone, HealthKit, and Apple Health are trademarks of Apple Inc. Your runs and the data recorded from them remain yours.
Availability, updates, and changes
We may update, change, or withdraw the app, or any feature of it, at any time without notice. Updates may change how a feature works or remove it. Some features depend on Apple services, device capabilities, and operating system versions we do not control, and may stop working when those change. We do not promise that the app will always be available, error-free, or compatible with your devices.
Termination
You can stop using Just Pace at any time by deleting it from your devices. We may end your licence if you break these terms. Workouts you have saved to Apple Health stay in Health regardless. The sections on safety, accuracy, warranty, and liability continue to apply after termination.
No warranty
Just Pace is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Some places do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, Just Pace, including any loss caused by inaccurate or missing pacing information or by decisions you make while running. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
General
These terms are between you and Yay! Project. If any part of them is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a term immediately, we can still enforce it later. We may update these terms from time to time; we will change the dates at the top of this page when we do, and continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. The version on this page is the current one.
